client appraisal ]
At
Podge we work not just from the head but from the
heart and deliver what we promise - energy, commitment,
fun and, most of all, results.
Creative and intelligently targeted media campaigns
and refreshingly different event concepts have enhanced
the profile of our clients and their productions
and events.
Yet our clients rate us, above all, for delivering.

Mike
Pescod, Chairman, Fort William Mountain Festival
The Fort William Mountain Festival
2007 was a fantastic success and much of the credit
should go to Podge for the remarkable media coverage
achieved for the event. We have no hesitation in recommending
Podge to businesses and events and, in fact, look for
opportunities to do so!
Podge's suggestion to have a launch of the 2007 programme
was new to us and did raise concerns with the committee.
Our concerns however were completely unfounded and
it turned out to be a brilliant idea. We were contacted
by people all over the country interested in the festival
having seen the images from the launch photocall and
the other coverage.
In the lead up and during the event itself we were
given so many opportunities to speak with journalists
wanting to cover all or part of the festival that it
was a real struggle to catch up with them all.
The festival is supported by many local businesses,
many of which received their own media coverage for
their part in the event. We rely on the partnership
working of these local businesses and were very pleased
to see their individual profiles being boosted so well.
The feedback we received from journalists about Podge
was also excellent, describing the company as 'the
full package' and making their jobs that much easier.
Working with Podge from our point of view was smooth
and easy, a reflection of their professionalism.
Thank you very much for a first class job.
Torquil MacLeod, Funding Manager, Highland 2007
The Fort William Mountain Festival was a major event
in the programme Highland 2007 – Scotland’s
Year of Highland Culture - and received Highland 2007
funding in support of enhanced promotion and on-site
activity. In line with the objectives of Highland 2007,
the Festival organisers contracted Podge Publicity as
a specialist PR agency to generate additional national
media profile and positioning of Fort William and the
wider Lochaber area as the Outdoor Capital of the UK.
Podge Publicity delivered an outstanding national media
return for the event, far in excess of that ever previously
achieved. We are delighted with the profile this created
for the Highlands in the Year of Culture.

Urban Adventure Series, Wilderness ARC & AR
World Championships 2007
“Podge are a friendly and flexible outfit who thrive in Scottish
media communications. They have an impressive contact base and strong relationships
both in the regions and at national level. We have used Podge on many occasions
and will continue to engage them; the jobs are frequently complex and require
a high degree of preparation from Podge; they always deliver both in terms of
media liaison at our events but most crucially, they get the results. Recommended
highly.” |

Mike
Jardine, Director, Rare Management
Organisers of The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup at Fort
William
“From
the outset we wanted to produce a truly world class
sporting event that would be the equal of anything else
on the mountain bike circuit. Without doubt the Fort
William World Cup was a great success and part of that
success is due to the hard work and determination of
everyone at Podge.
Being the first ever World Cup of its type in the UK,
it was a new experience for everyone involved. Podge rose
to the challenge and ran an extremely effective pre event
media campaign and an on-site media centre operation that
was highly praised by all of the press, especially those
from overseas.
Happy media makes an organiser's life a lot easier. Thanks
to Podge for happy media.
We are looking forward to working with Podge again in
2003 now that Fort William is firmly established on the
World Cup circuit.” |

Farquhar, Creative Director, nva organisation - The Path
-
The Glen Lyon Millennium Event
In
Spring 2000 nva organisation presented 'The Path' a major
landscape event for The Millennium Festival set in Glen
Lyon in rural Perthshire. The event was a huge success,
selling-out to an audience of 5000, drawn from all over
Scotland. That success was thanks in no small part to
the superb marketing campaign run by Podge. The project
was promoted through all available media, from Television
and Radio, to Newspapers and specialist publications.
The company showed a scrupulous attention to detail, which
paid off in good press relations, often in physically
demanding circumstances. I would highly recommend them
to large or small organisations active in the cultural
and corporate sectors and look forward to working with
them again in the future.
